Requirements:

• Experience working in an educational, workforce development, career services, student services or related setting.

• Ability to establish positive working relationships with four-year universities, VCCS partners and professional organizations

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and organizational skills

• Knowledge of project or event planning, including the ability to organize activities such as college and transfer fairs

• Ability to work successfully with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations

• Ability to conduct research, and analyze and interpret data for reports

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to exercise appropriate judgment and maintain confidentiality regarding a variety of sensitive information

• Proficient in the use of PC-based software including Word and Excel

• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures

Additional Considerations:

• Working knowledge of admissions and transfer advising processes and ability to develop and advise on transfer plans

• Knowledge of transfer advising theories and techniques

• Experience in advising, transfer, and/or strategic planning

• Experience with online advising and transfer management systems

• Knowledge of college resources to include financial aid, student services, and academic programs

• Experience with college searches, transfer admissions applications, scholarship applications, personal statements, and interviewing techniques

• Experience using technology-based student success platforms
