AI Is Changing Who Gets to Succeed — Helping Those In Need Learn The Tech Matters More Than Ever

AI is reshaping who can succeed in today’s economy, and GI Go Fund’s Center ensures veterans and underserved communities have the training and access needed to compete and create opportunity in this new landscape.

A recent article from CNBC highlights something we are already seeing on the ground. Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how people start businesses, find work, and compete in today’s economy. What once required a team, technical expertise, and significant capital can now be done by a single individual using the right AI tools.

This shift is opening the door to a new kind of entrepreneur. People can move faster, operate with fewer resources, and turn ideas into income in ways that were not possible just a few years ago. But that opportunity is not being distributed evenly. Those who understand how to use AI are gaining a clear advantage, while those without access to or training in AI risk falling further behind.

That divide is exactly what GI Go Fund is working to prevent.

At our Center for Job Training and EQUALpreneurship in Newark, we have built a model focused on access, support, and real-world application. For years, the Center has helped veterans and underserved communities secure employment, start businesses, and build long-term financial stability. Today, that same model is evolving to meet the demands of an AI-driven economy.

We have integrated AI training directly into our programming so participants are not just aware of these tools, but know how to use them in practical ways. Whether it is improving a resume, navigating a job search, or exploring a business idea, tools like ChatGPT and Claude are becoming part of everyday workflows. Since launching this training, hundreds of participants have completed AI modules, and most report feeling more prepared to apply these tools in their careers.

This is not about chasing a trend. It is about responding to a real shift in how opportunity is created.

AI is changing more than jobs. It is changing who has the ability to create opportunities for themselves. That means workforce development has to evolve with it. It is no longer enough to help someone find a job. We also need to make sure they can compete in a world where technology is reshaping the playing field.

The work happening at GI Go Fund is designed to close that gap before it widens. By combining hands-on training, mentorship, and access to technology, we are making sure the communities we serve are not left behind but are positioned to move forward.

The future of work is already here. The question is who will be ready for it.
