School Administrator - Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work – Flexible to the needs of the program. This position will be on a per diem basis. Up to 5-10 hours per week.
 
Qualifications - Valid Administrators Certificate as issued by NYSED as a School Building Leader or School District Leader, and/or School Administrator. Possess NYS Teaching Certification valid for teaching students with disabilities, birth to grade 2, or certification in early education, or possess certification or licensure in speech-language pathology, psychology, occupational or physical therapy, or another related service. A minimum of two years or equivalent of experience in an early intervention,  or early childhood education program serving children ages birth to five years of age, provided that the experience includes direct experience in delivering services to children with disabilities and their families.   
 
Relevant Certifications – Administrators and teaching certification
 
Work Authorization/Security Clearance – Authorized to work in the United States.
 
Summary/Objective –  The Per Diem School Administrator provides educational leadership to ensure compliance with NYSED regulations governing the approved 4410 preschool special education program. This position serves in a consultative capacity, supporting the Preschool Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator with regulatory compliance, educational administration and policy interpretation.
 
Essential Functions – Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

Serve as the designated School Administrator for approved preschool Special Education program
Collaborate with Preschool Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator by offering administrative guidance, regulatory interpretation and oversight related to operation and compliance of approved preschool Special Education program.
Assist with professional development related to educational compliance and instructional quality
Participate in leadership meetings as needed
Support compliance with Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) and educational standards

Supervisory Responsibility – This position does not require supervisory responsibility
 
Travel – Minimal travel is required between counties for various meetings. 
 
Work Environment - This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and faxing.
